In a significant move, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde's faction of Shiv Sena pledges support to BJP in upcoming Assembly elections in five states, rejoining the NDA. Emphasizing Hindutva ideology, Shinde directs active collaboration, adding a new dimension to Maharashtra's political landscape and triggering speculation about evolving alliances.
In
a significant political move, the faction of Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Chief
Minister Eknath Shinde has declared its support for the Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP) in the upcoming Assembly elections in five states: Chhattisgarh, Madhya
Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram.
Expressing
allegiance to the Hindutva ideology pioneered by the late Balasahib Thackeray,
Shinde emphasized Shiv Sena's historical role as a torchbearer of this
philosophy. The party, under his leadership, has decided to rejoin the National
Democratic Alliance (NDA), aligning itself with Prime Minister Modi's
leadership.
Shiv
Sena, with active units across the country, will play an active role in
supporting BJP candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections. Shinde has
directed Shiv Sena state units in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and
Telangana to collaborate with their BJP counterparts and actively participate
in the election campaigns.
To
facilitate coordination between the two parties, Shinde has appointed MP Rahul
Shewale, Ashish Kulkarni (chief co-ordinator), and Abhijit Secretary as key
figures responsible for detailing the participation process.
The scheduled Assembly elections are as follows: Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Mizoram on November 7 (already concluded), Chhattisgarh on November 7 (first phase - concluded) and 17 (second phase), Rajasthan on November 25, and Telangana on November 30, with results announced on December 3.

This
development coincides with a meeting between Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister
Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, triggering
speculations about the evolving political landscape in Maharashtra.
As of now, the Maharashtra government is a coalition led by Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), BJP, and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP - Ajit Pawar faction). This strategic move by Shiv Sena adds a new dimension to the political equations in the state and beyond.
