In a chilling incident at Prague University, the tranquility of academia was shattered by a horrific shooting carried out by David Kozak, a 24-year-old history student. The rampage resulted in the tragic loss of 14 lives and left 25 individuals wounded, marking it as the Czech Republic's most devastating mass shooting.

Kozak's identity emerged swiftly as the assailant responsible for the chaos that erupted within the philosophy department of Charles University. The aftermath of the incident sent shockwaves across the country, raising significant concerns about the safety measures in place within educational institutions.

Described initially as an "excellent student" with no prior criminal record, Kozak’s motive for such an appalling act remained obscure. However, investigators uncovered distressing details from Kozak's activities on the messaging platform Telegram, where he apparently maintained a diary detailing plans for the shooting and his own suicide.

Despite his academic achievements, Kozak grappled with introversion and mental health challenges, burdened by disturbing thoughts as evident from his unsettling posts. He ominously expressed a desire to commit a school shooting and his possible suicide, indicating troubling psychological turmoil.

The attire of black attire and armed with a rifle, Kozak unleashed terror, indiscriminately targeting individuals on the campus premises. Reports later revealed that before the university shooting spree, Kozak had fatally shot his own father in Hostoun, further deepening the despair and confusion surrounding his actions.
