President Droupadi Murmu embarked on a significant three-day state visit to Mauritius, culminating in a series of diplomatic engagements and bilateral agreements. President Droupadi Murmu engaged in high-level discussions with Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagnauth during her three-day official visit to Mauritius. The meeting aimed to fortify the longstanding India-Mauritius bilateral relationship. She also handed over Indian RuPay cards to underscore the growing economic ties between the two nations.

Upon her arrival, President Murmu was accorded a warm reception by Prime Minister Jugnauth, emphasizing the significance of her visit. She was invited as the Chief Guest for Mauritius National Day celebrations, further affirming the close diplomatic ties between the two nations. Additionally, the Indian Navy participated in the festivities, showcasing maritime cooperation.

India's decision to approve OCI cards for 7th-generation Indian-origin Mauritians was a pivotal announcement during President Murmu's visit. This move aims to strengthen cultural ties and facilitate the connection between younger Mauritians of Indian descent and their ancestral homeland. President Murmu announced this landmark decision during Mauritius' National Day celebrations.
