Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his congratulations to Pakistan's new Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Extending a hand of friendship once again from India, PM Modi sent his best wishes to Shehbaz on taking oath as Prime Minister of Pakistan. PM Modi wrote, "Congratulations to Shehbaz Sharif on taking oath as the Prime Minister of Pakistan."

Shehbaz Sharif took oath as the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Monday. He will lead the country's helm for the second time after 2022. Shehbaz has assumed the leadership of Pakistan at a time when the country is facing economic challenges. President Arif Alvi administered the oath to 72-year-old Shehbaz at the President House 'Aiwan-e-Sadr'.

It is noteworthy that before the dissolution of the parliament, Shehbaz Sharif served as the Prime Minister of the coalition government from April 2022 to August 2023. Now, after the general elections, his Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have formed a coalition. Shehbaz Sharif's name was put forward as the joint candidate by this coalition. The coalition received 201 votes in the 336-member assembly, which is 32 more than the required votes to become the leader of the house.
