Prince Harry Responds as Charity Probe Clears Him, But Tensions at Sentebale Persist

Prince Harry responded after being cleared of misconduct in the Sentebale charity probe. The investigation found no evidence of bullying or misogyny but criticised internal governance. Amid unresolved disputes and leadership tensions, Harry and Prince Seeiso have exited Sentebale, while Harry plans to continue supporting children in Lesotho and Botswana.

Prince Harry has issued a public statement after the Charity Commission for England and Wales concluded that there was no evidence of systemic bullying, harassment, or misogyny within the Sentebale charity. The Commission found no wrongdoing by Harry or co-founder Prince Seeiso, and no misconduct by current chair Sophie Chandauka. However, it criticised the internal governance and the failure of key figures to resolve disputes privately, which it said damaged the charity’s public image.

A spokesperson for Prince Harry noted that the Commission’s findings confirmed his stance and dismissed the earlier claims of workplace misconduct. The statement expressed disappointment that the fallout from the leadership dispute would primarily impact the vulnerable children the charity serves in Lesotho and Botswana. Harry and Seeiso stepped down from their roles at Sentebale in March 2025 following allegations and internal conflict.

An insider revealed that Harry and Seeiso feel unable to return to the charity while Chandauka remains chair, describing the situation as a “hostile takeover.” The source highlighted the deep emotional and financial investment both princes had made over 19 years, building Sentebale into a significant charitable force in southern Africa.

Meanwhile, Chandauka responded by thanking the Commission and stating that the outcome validated her governance concerns. She alleged that those who resigned launched an adverse media campaign, further harming the organisation’s mission. Despite the turmoil, she asserted that the charity is now more focused and resilient.

The scandal stemmed from a dispute reportedly ignited when Harry’s team requested public support for Meghan Markle, which Chandauka declined. While Harry has left Sentebale, sources indicate he remains committed to the children of Lesotho and Botswana and may pursue new avenues to continue his humanitarian work.
