While Guwahati had its first IPL fixture, the match between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals Was a triumph as the former defeated the latter by five runs.

He was also declared player of the match, he said, "Just stoked to get the win, pleased to get some awards but from a team's point of view nice to get that win. In T20 every ball counts, staying in the moment is really the key. When I was bowling in the backend, I was trying to get my variations right and calculate the best ball at that time. For me it's cross-seam and it worked out really well tonight."

In the match at Barapara stadium, Shikhar Dhawan became the third batsman just behind David Warner and Virat Kohli to record 50 scores of 50 plus in IPL leading the Punjab Kings to a par score with an unbeaten 86 off 56.

While the last five overs saw only economical spells from Jason Holder and R Ashwin to hold the game, Prabhsimran had scored 63 for 0 in a fiery powerplay before.

Succeeding this Rajasthan Royals kept on shipping wickets amid crisp hits by Sanju Samson. But, This performance became the first defeat of the Rajasthan Royals.
