The Indian Army uncovered a hidden terrorist hideout in Rajouri's forests after a thorough operation, revealing a small, elusive cave serving as a sanctuary. Special Forces engaged in a 36-hour battle, eliminating two militants, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander named Quari, a Pakistan national trained in Afghanistan. His expertise in weaponry and strategic use of caves posed a severe threat. Sadly, five army personnel, including Captains Pranjal and Gupta, fell in the line of duty, showcasing the sacrifices made in combating terrorism.
The Indian Army recently revealed a concealed hideout
utilized by terrorists within the forests of Rajouri. This discovery unfolded
following an intensive cordon-and-search operation initiated in the Bajimaal
area of the district. The hideout, a small cave, had been serving as a covert
sanctuary for militants, adept at evading detection and infiltration by
security forces.
According to security officials, locating and penetrating
such hideouts pose significant challenges. They highlighted the difficulties
involved in identifying these concealed spaces amidst the dense forest cover.
The Indian Army's Special Forces, in collaboration with other security units,
engaged in a rigorous 36-hour-long operation to neutralize the threat posed by
the militants harbored within this cave.
During this operation, security forces successfully eliminated two terrorists, including a high-ranking Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander with training experience in Afghanistan. Referred to as Quari, this commander, a Pakistan national, held a pivotal position within the terrorist group and had been operating actively in the Rajouri-Poonch region for an extended period. Notably, Quari was identified as the mastermind behind several attacks in the area, such as the Dangri and Kandi assaults, aimed at reviving terrorism in the region.

Quari's expertise in handling improvised explosive devices
(IEDs), his proficiency as a trained sniper, and his strategic use of cave
hideouts amplified the threat he posed. His elimination marked a significant
blow to the militant network operating in the region.
Amidst the success in neutralizing the threat, the operation
also witnessed a heart-wrenching loss for the Indian Army. Five valiant army
personnel made the ultimate sacrifice during the operation in the Bajimaal
area. Among the fallen heroes were Captain M V Pranjal, Captain Shubham Gupta,
Havaldar Abdul Majid, Lance Naik Sanjay Bist, and Paratrooper Sachin Laur, all
of whom displayed exceptional courage in the face of adversity.
Their unwavering dedication and bravery in combating
terrorism amidst the challenging terrain of Rajouri's forests serve as a
poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the armed forces in securing the
nation's safety and sovereignty.
