In the lush and secluded forest of Panchavati, a significant incident unfolded in the epic tale of the Ramayana, introducing the complex character of Soorpanakha. The rakshasi, who occasionally dwelled in the jungle, encountered Prince Rama during one of her visits. Struck by love at first sight, Soorpanakha decided to use her mystical powers to disguise herself as an enchanting woman and approached Rama with a proposal for marriage.

However, Lord Rama, devoted to his wife Sita, politely declined Soorpanakha's advances, explaining that his heart belonged solely to Sita. She believed that by removing Sita from the equation, Rama would have no choice but to accept her love.
