Raveena Tandon recently revealed that a mob attack she faced in June was pre-planned, according to the Mumbai police. Richa Chadha experienced a similar incident the following day. Both actors believe the attacks were attempts to intimidate them into settling financially. A viral video captured part of Tandon’s confrontation with the mob.
In a recent interview with NewsX Live, actor Raveena Tandon opened up about the mob attack she faced in Mumbai earlier this year, revealing that her friend and fellow actor, Richa Chadha, experienced a similar incident just a day later. The police have now confirmed that these incidents were likely pre-planned, aimed at intimidation and financial extortion.
Raveena recounted the terrifying June incident, where a mob assaulted her and her driver over accusations of rash driving and hitting three women. The situation escalated as the mob tried to force their way into her home, demanding she surrender her driver. Tandon and her household staff had to physically block the mob from entering her house. She refused to hand over her driver, insisting that the police should deal with the matter if he was at fault.
Tandon expressed her concerns over the premeditated nature of the attack, stating that the police concluded it was likely an attempt to force her into settling and paying money. She recalled how aggressive the mob became, even attacking male members of her staff and pressuring her to let them handle justice.
The next day, Richa Chadha contacted Raveena, revealing that she had faced a similar mob attack, with the police advising her to settle the matter. Richa, unable to avoid the situation, had to pay up.
A viral video of the June incident shows the heated confrontation, where a man accuses Tandon’s driver of hitting his mother and then assaulting her when confronted. The mob accused Raveena of being intoxicated during the altercation, though the actor firmly denied these claims.
