In a historic victory after 48 years, India shattered their jinx against New Zealand in the ICC events, emerging victorious for the first time. The match, held at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, witnessed India's dominant performance, securing a massive 70-run win and effortlessly advancing to the final. 

India's triumph marked their tenth consecutive win, positioning them with the second-best streak in World Cup history, a feat that garnered significant attention. However, amidst this streak, the standout star was Mohammed Shami, India's pacer, swiftly etching his name in World Cup folklore.

Shami's meteoric rise unfolded as he displayed unmatched brilliance, claiming an astonishing 23 wickets across merely six matches in the tournament. His average of 9.13, coupled with three remarkable five-wicket hauls, positioned him as a force to be reckoned with. Remarkably, Shami became the fastest to clinch 50 wickets in World Cup history, achieving this milestone in just 18 innings, eclipsing Mitchell Starc's previous record set in 19 innings.
