RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat called for unity among Hindus by rising above caste divisions and fostering shared spaces in public areas and festivals. He stressed the need for friendship across communities to build social harmony and criticized political forces that exploit caste divides.
During his annual Vijayadashami address at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat urged the Hindu society to rise above caste-based divisions and foster unity with Dalits and marginalized communities. Bhagwat emphasized the importance of inclusive public spaces and participation in collective festivals to build social harmony.
Highlighting the need for unity, Bhagwat criticized the practice of celebrating festivals like Valmiki Jayanti and Ravidas Jayanti only within specific communities, advocating for collective celebrations by all sections of Hindu society. He called for shared spaces in temples, drinking water facilities, and crematoriums to bring people together, regardless of their caste.
Bhagwat also addressed the role of political forces in deepening caste divides, accusing them of aiding a “deep state” agenda that seeks to fragment society for selfish interests. He stressed that the foundation of a healthy society is social harmony, achieved through friendship across communities and family bonds that transcend differences in language, culture, and tradition.

He recounted a meeting with Valmiki community members who voiced concerns about the lack of educational opportunities for their children. Bhagwat praised the Rajput community for allowing Valmiki children to attend their school free of charge, framing this as a model of how stronger sections of society can support the weaker.
