Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev the founder of the Isha Foundation and a spiritual leader,
underwent emergency brain surgery recently to treat
"life-threatening" brain hemorrhage and edema.

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev brain surgery was also carried out at Delhi's Apollo Hospital on March 17. Dr. Vinit Suri, the chief consultant neurology at Apollo Hospital, evaluated Sadhguru. In a video released by the Isha Foundation, Dr. Suri discloses that Sadhguru has been experiencing unbearable headaches for almost four weeks.
He went to social events and carried on with his regular activities in spite of the unbearable discomfort. On March 8, he even performed the Maha Shivaratri rite. In the video, Dr. Suri states, "He ignored all of the pain and continued with all of the meetings."
However, by the time Sadhguru called Dr. Suri on March 15 to seek advice, his headache had gotten worse. "We knew immediately that there was something threatening happening by the way the pain was getting worse," said a top specialist neurologist.

When he called me at 4 p.m., I immediately insisted on getting an MRI. He was free to show up for the 6 o'clock meeting that was set. We were able to get him to have an MRI, and the scan revealed extensive brain bleeding. It was discovered that there was indications of a recent bleeding that had happened in the last 24 to 48 hours as well as a prolonged bleeding that had lasted for three to four weeks, according to Dr.Suri.
The physicians insisted that Sadhguru check into a hospital right away, but he continued to fulfil his obligations. On March 17, nevertheless, the 66-year-old spiritual leader began to experience weariness and weakness in his left leg, as well as a deterioration in his level of consciousness. After that, he was hurriedly brought to the hospital.
He was in pain, but he never once voiced complaints about it. But he told me that morning that this is the right time to accomplish your objectives. It was the first time he had ever given us the all clear to perform the surgery. The CT scan showed right away that there was edema and potentially deadly bleeding throughout the brain. Now he was very dim and confused, as if part of his brain had moved to the side. Our surgeon suggested that we proceed with the operation right away.
Following the successful operation, the physician declared that Sadhguru is okay and out of ventilator.
