In a recent interview with ANI, Shweta Sharda, the reigning Miss Diva Universe 2023, expressed her excitement about representing India at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant scheduled for November in El Salvador. The 22-year-old beauty from Chandigarh has set her sights on bringing the coveted Miss Universe crown back to India.


Sharda, who moved to Mumbai at 16 to chase her dreams, has an impressive background in dance, appearing in popular shows like 'DID,' 'Dance Deewane,' and 'Jhalak Dikhlaja.' While discussing her plans, she mentioned her childhood dream of becoming an actress. She affirmed her willingness to embrace opportunities in Bollywood. However, her current focus remains on clinching the Miss Universe title for India.

During the grand finale of Miss Diva Universe 2023, Sonal Kukreja was crowned Miss Diva Supranational 2023, while Trisha Shetty from Karnataka secured the title of Miss Diva 2023 runner-up. The judging panel for the event boasted illustrious names, including reigning Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, Pratik Gandhi, Srinidhi Shetty, and Sangeeta Bijlani.


India boasts a remarkable track record at the Miss Universe pageant, with three past winners: Sushmita Sen in 1994, Lara Dutta in 2000, and the reigning title holder Harnaz Sandhu, who claimed the crown in 2022.
