As RR decided to substitute Rovman Powell for a fielder, the fourth umpire overheard Ricky Ponting, the Washington team's head coach, and Sourav Ganguly, the director of cricket, talking to each other. Starting the match for RR were Trent Boult, Jos Buttler, and Shimron Hetmyer, who were all foreign players. With Hetmyer sitting out, Nandre Burger will step up as their starting point guard.

Riyan Parag scored 84 runs off of 45 balls in a Rajasthan Royals victory over the Delhi Capitals, which resulted in a 12-run victory.

Parag hit a career-best score of 46 runs off of seven fours and six sixes while batting in the Indian Premier League. By the end of the ninth over, RR had risen from 36 for three runs to a terrifying 185 for five.

In response, David Warner scored 49 runs off of 34 balls, but DC capitulated to the bowlers' outstanding effort.

The opportunity was lost, even though Tristan Stubbs tried his hardest (44 not out).

The other bowler dismissed Yuzvendra Chahal (2/19) and Nandre Burger (2/29). Working well with him was Avesh Khan (1/29).
