In a significant move towards the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is anticipated to unveil its first list of candidates following a crucial meeting in Delhi. Sources within the party reveal that the BJP, eyeing a comprehensive victory in the polls, convened at the national capital to deliberate on its electoral strategy, particularly focusing on Uttar Pradesh, a state pivotal for the party's aspirations, being the largest contributor of MPs to the Lok Sabha.

Key figures like PM Narendra Modi, slated to contest from Varanasi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, expected to contest from Gandhinagar, Gujarat, are central to the party's plans. The candidate list is likely to prioritize constituencies where the BJP faced defeat in the previous elections. The meeting, presided over by BJP national president JP Nadda and attended by prominent leaders including Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, underscores the party's concerted efforts towards electoral dominance.

In parallel, PM Modi's recent rally in Varanasi showcased the party's resolve to clinch all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Modi reiterated his commitment to delivering on central schemes and expressed confidence in securing an overwhelming mandate from the state. The BJP's ambitious target aligns with its vision of a robust electoral performance, positioning itself as the frontrunner in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
