According to reports in the US media, the man who allegedly shot and killed five of his neighbors after they requested him to cease Firing his rifle in his yard in Texas was apprehended on Tuesday following a multi-day search operation.

After a shooting incident in the small town of Cleveland on Friday, Francisco Oropesa managed to evade authorities in Texas. The victims who suffered from this unfortunate event ranged from 9 to 31 years of age.

According to the San Jacinto County District Attorney Todd Dillon, Oropesa was captured by authorities in Cut and Shoot, a Texan town approximately 17 miles from Cleveland. This information was shared with the NBC news network.

To catch the 38-year-old fugitive, law enforcement authorities have deployed a substantial number of officers and were offering a reward of $80,000 for any information that would aid in his capture.

The recent shooting incident on Friday is yet another tragic addition to the series of mass shootings in the US that have sparked heated discussions on the country's stance towards guns. This event has also fueled the already contentious debate on immigration in America.

Governor Greg Abbott of Texas used the phrase "illegal immigrants" when referring to the suspect's alleged killing of five people. However, it was not immediately determined whether the victims were undocumented immigrants or had legal status in the United States. Abbott clarified that at least one victim may have had legal status in the US.

What happened in Texas?

According to the homeowner, Wilson Garcia, the shooting occurred after he asked the suspect, Oropesa, to stop firing his gun in his yard because a baby in the house was trying to sleep.

Oropesa then proceeded to shoot and kill Garcia's wife before entering the home and shooting others inside.
