Indian worker in Sudan killed by a stray bullet, government vows assistance to family
The Indian government has pledged to extend "all necessary help" to the family of Albert Augestine, an Indian national who tragically died in the Sudanese capital city of Khartoum. The Victim, working for the Dal Group Company in Sudan, was hit by a stray bullet inside his home on Saturday.
V Muraleedharan, the union minister of state for external affairs, has spoken to the victim's father, and efforts are being made to bring Augestine's body back to India.
The minister has also confirmed that Augestine's wife and daughter, who were with him in Sudan, are safe. The Indian embassy in Sudan is coordinating with local authorities to make further arrangements.
