Donald Trump, during a police endorsement event, criticized Kamala Harris for policies that he claims have put officers in greater danger. He highlighted his tough-on-crime platform, contrasting it with Harris’s alleged leniency. Trump also pledged to restore respect for law enforcement if elected in 2024.
During a Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) endorsement event in North Carolina, former President Donald Trump issued strong criticisms of Vice President Kamala Harris, alleging that her policies have placed police officers in more danger than ever before. Addressing the gathering in Charlotte on Friday, Trump expressed gratitude for the FOP's endorsement for the 2024 presidential race and reaffirmed his commitment to law enforcement.
Trump pointed out a recent surge in violence against police officers, referencing the number of officers shot in the line of duty in 2024. He emphasized that police face growing threats and dangers, tying these to Harris’s tenure as a prosecutor in San Francisco. According to Trump, her policies during this period contributed to widespread lawlessness, which he claims has persisted and worsened across the country.
The former president also highlighted his plans to take on crime, including protecting officers' qualified immunity, advocating for the death penalty for those who kill law enforcement, and cracking down on drug gangs. Trump labeled Harris’s policies as part of a broader “crime wave” unleashed by what he called the "communist left," which he said has led to chaos and bloodshed throughout the nation.
