Trump Pledges

Former US President Donald Trump has announced his intention to launch what he refers to as the "largest domestic deportation operation in American history," should he be reelected. Speaking at a campaign event in New Hampshire on Tuesday, Trump emphasized his commitment to using state, local, federal, and military resources to carry out this initiative, which he likens to the Eisenhower-Howard model.

During the event, Trump framed the move as a response to what he perceived as an "invasion" of the country. He highlighted his determination to secure the nation's borders and underscored his belief in safeguarding American freedom.

Trump asserted, "Our country is being invaded. Following the Eisenhower-Howard model, we will use all necessary state, local federal, and military resources to carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history. Gotta do it."

Trump's rhetoric extended beyond immigration policy as he sought to align himself with the interests of his supporters. He depicted himself as a "martyr" enduring attacks from both Democrats and the government on their behalf. Trump's portrayal of himself as a victim of the criminal justice system has consistently rallied Republican support around him.

In response to his recent indictments related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, Trump took to social media to share his perspective. On August 3, the day of his third indictment, he wrote on his social media platform that facing fraud and obstruction charges in Washington was an "honor" because he believed he was "being arrested for you."

Observers noted that Trump's messaging aimed to foster solidarity among his supporters. Lorraine Rudd, an attendee of Trump's appearance in New Hampshire, echoed this sentiment, expressing concern that if authorities could target a former president, they could also target ordinary citizens like herself.
