The US military confirmed the first aid trucks arrived in Gaza via a newly built floating pier, opening a temporary maritime corridor to deliver humanitarian relief amid the ongoing crisis.
The US military, reports that, with the construction and operation of a makeshift pier at the Gaza shoreline the first batch of humanitarian supplies has been unloaded.
In a Tweet today, US Central Command said that significant aid supplies started arriving à la maritime at around 9 am local time to Gaza, which opened a new seaport corridor to deliver supplies to the blockaded Gaza Strip.
"Many arms of the international community are being brought together to sail this vessel of humanitarian aid which carries only goods to the Palestinian civilians in Gaza. This is not an attempt to wage a war. The United States military personnel remain offshore throughout the delivery," the post concluded.
The erection of the floating pier resulted from months of hard efforts by the US and British naval forces abound S. S. and ships like the RFA Cardigan Bay. The UK Ministry of Defence indicated that British officials had a part in the construction and operation of the extensive wharf system.
"The start-up of a new pier into the Gaza coast will allow all those truckloads of humanitarian aid to reach the Palestinians who are suffering most," said the UK Defence Secretary, Grant Shapps.
The last US administration wishes to exploit this maritime corridor given the closure or the instability of the land routes into Gaza thus easing the humanitarian aid distress. An estimated 2. United Nations Relief and Work Agency places food, shelter, and other assistance as a priority for over 2 million Palestinian civilians who are engaged in war with Israel.
US Central Command is set for over 500 metric tonnes of humanitarian supplies to be transmitted through the harbor pier system over the next few days before being apportioned at a marshaling area ashore. The UN would be the deployed agency to distribute the aid throughout Gaza.

However, the UN has pointed out that the maritime route is urgent but only complementary to the land routes which are the fastest and most effective ones of delivery into Gaza during this crisis.
