In a horrific incident of honor killing that has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh, a 24- year old man beheaded his sister for having a love affair with a man.


Details of The Honor Killing

The 24 year old murderer has been identified as Riyaz who killed his 18 year old sister, Asifa. Reportedly, Asifa was having an affair with Chand Babu, a Hindu residing close to her house. The incident occurred when Asifa insisted that she wanted to marry the love of her life.

“In a fit of rage Riyaz picked up a sharp-edged weapon and beheaded his sister before packing her head in a sack and went to the police station,” said ASP Ashutosh Mishra investigating the case. Riyaz casually walked on the streets holding the head of his sister in his hand while reaching the police station.

Actions Taken

Riyaz has now been arrested and put into jail. An FIR filed by Asifa’s father under Section 366 of IPC (abduction with intent to marry) earlier, is also being looked into by the police.
