Tensions escalated in Haryana's Nuh district during a religious procession called the 'Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra,' led by BJP district president Gargi Kakkar. Clashes erupted when the procession was obstructed by a group of individuals near Khedla Mod, leading to stone-pelting and the torching of four cars, as confirmed by the police.

In response to the unrest, teargas shells were used by the police to disperse the crowd, and additional troops were summoned from neighbouring districts. The Haryana government took precautionary measures by suspending mobile internet services in the district until Wednesday and imposed prohibitory orders to prevent gatherings and potential violence.

Congress MLA Ch Aftab Ahmed appealed for calm, expressing disappointment in the administration and police's handling of the situation. Although there were reports of injuries, the exact number has not been disclosed yet.

Allegedly, the clashes were triggered by the circulation of an offensive video involving Bajrang Dal activist Monu Manesar, who was accused of lynching two Muslim men. He and his associates were purportedly part of the religious procession.
