awards event recently unfolded in Delhi, with Vivek Agnihotri's film 'The

Agnihotri's public disdain for Johar's filmmaking style has been well-documented. He has repeatedly criticized Johar's work, deeming it 'superficial' and lacking a meaningful societal impact. The filmmaker took to social media to share an edited picture featuring the 69th National Film Awards winners alongside President Droupadi Murmu and Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Anurag Thakur.

The rift between Vivek Agnihotri and Karan Johar has been festering for a while. In August of this year, Agnihotri accused both Johar and Shah Rukh Khan of "damaging India's cultural fabric." Speaking to DNA, Agnihotri expressed, "Since the era of Amitabh Bachchan as a superstar – not the one from Deewar but the one from Shehanshah – Indian cinema has ceased to tell authentic stories. Especially the works of Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan have had a disastrous impact on India's cultural heritage. It is imperative to narrate genuine, unadulterated tales."
