According to Tuesday's press release by the Ministry of External Affairs, the 19th round of talks between the Indian and Chinese Corps Commanders took place at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Indian side from August 13 to 14, 2023.


During this meeting, both parties engaged in a constructive and productive dialogue to address the remaining matters along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Western Sector. A positive and helpful conversation, following the guidance of their leaders was witnessed and shared their perspectives openly and with a forward-looking approach.


For the first time ever, the important military discussions about the ongoing border dispute took place for over two days.


According to the statement from the Ministry of External Affairs, both sides decided to speedily address the remaining problems and continue discussions through military and diplomatic channels. In the meantime, they also agreed to keep the peace and calm in the border regions.

On April 23, 2023, the 18th round of the India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting took place at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Chinese side. Both sides had an open and detailed discussion about resolving issues along the LAC in the Western Sector to bring back peace and tranquility to the border regions, which will foster progress in bilateral relations.


Guided by State Leaders' direction and the March 2023 Foreign Ministers meeting, they openly shared their perspectives. They agreed to maintain stability in the Western Sector, staying in close contact through military and diplomatic channels to swiftly find solutions for remaining issues.

Shortly after the conflict between their militaries began, the two nations initiated military discussions focused on disengagement and reducing tensions along the LAC in eastern Ladakh.


Since then, both parties have successfully disengaged from various confrontation points and shifted to new positions, aiming to prevent clashes and resolve the matters through peaceful means.
