Apple Inc. Demands:-

Apple has been seeking to expand its local production in India, and one of the major hurdles in this process has been the country's strict labor laws. These laws mandate various requirements for workers' rights, such as minimum wages, working hours, and leave entitlements. Apple has reportedly been seeking changes in these laws to make them more flexible, which would make it easier for the company to ramp up production in the country.

Apple Inc. Demands

According to the Bloomberg report, regional governments in India are considering yielding to Apple's request for changes in labour laws. As per the report, the largest plant which is controlled by the Foxconn in the state of Tamil Nadu, is planning to alter some rules and implement some new for the betterment of the operation.

Apple's move to expand local production in India comes amid growing trade tensions between the US and China. The company has been looking to diversify its supply chain away from China and India has emerged as a key destination. India is also a significant market for Apple, and the company has been looking to increase its market share in the country.

Apple Inc. Demands

It is worth noting that any changes in India's labour laws will need to balance the interests of workers with the needs of companies like Apple. The Indian government will need to ensure that any changes in labour laws do not compromise the rights of workers or lead to exploitation.
