Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, was sentenced to judicial jail on Monday, April 15, by Delhi court. Following the withdrawing of his Enforcement Directorate prison detention in an excise policy-related money laundering case, Kejriwal made an appearance in Delhi court.

Kejriwal was charged by the Enforcement Directorate of not cooperating. Three works were stipulated by Arvind Kejriwal's legal team: the Ramayana, the Bhagavad Gita, and 'How Prime Ministers Decide' by journalist Neerja Chaudhary.

Kejriwal appeared in court before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja following the conclusion of his ED confinement.

Before entering a Delhi court, Kejriwal attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, "What the PM is doing is not good for the country." He was released from custody and made an appearance in court on Monday.

As a result of his suspected involvement in a money laundering case involving the Delhi Excise Policy, Kejriwal is currently being held in ED custody.

Ahead of Kejriwal's judicial proceedings, security was stepped up outside the Rouse Avenue court on Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg. Among those visiting the court complex were Kejriwal's wife, Sunita, and Atishi, a senior minister in Delhi.

In relation to the current case, the Rouse Avenue Court issued an order last Thursday to prolong Arvind Kejriwal's custodial detention for an additional four days. In an effort to get an extension, the ED told the judge that data from Kejriwal's wife's only cell phone had been taken out and was being looked into.

On March 21, 2024, Kejriwal's office was searched; however, the analysis of the data from the other four digital devices that were found there has been delayed. This is due to Kejriwal's request for more time to talk with his legal representatives and supply the necessary passwords or access credentials.
