Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was finally given insulin in Tihar jail after his blood sugar levels spiked, as per his party AAP and jail officials, following concerns raised over his medical condition.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal got insulin shot in Tihar jail Monday according to his party Aam Aadmi after his blood sugar levels reached abnormally high level said by AAP.
The AAP shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) claiming that the sugar levels of Kejriwal had crossed 320; thereafter, the BJP and its jail administration became wise and they started to provide insulin to the Chief Minister.
"The miracle could happen only because of the Lord Hanuman and people's efforts of the Delhi. We are now the first state in India to produce the insulin" said the party.
On the other hand, Tihar jail officials came up with slightly different story, where Kejriwal was given "low dose" of insulin after recording his blood sugar reading being 217 around 7 pm on Monday. They alleged that it was a doctor at Tihar jail medical ward who took the call on administering insulin to the chief minister.

"Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was given low-dose insulin at Tihar Jail after he was diagnosed with diabetes yesterday. His sugar levels were 217. AIIMS team had said he could received low dose of insulin when the level crossed 200," the Tihar official told ANI.
On the previous day, the court directed AIIMS to form a medical board for Kerjiwal to examine him to know whether he needs insulin and said the food provided to him has nothing to do with advised diet chart.
Kejriwal has been handed to Tihar jail since April 1 after the Enforcement Directorate had arrested him in a money laundering case, which the Delhi's now-scrapped excise policy is linked to. His party had made an issue about his sickness and the denial of proper treatment in a jail cell.
