In a tragic incident on the outskirts of Bengaluru, a 21-year-old man allegedly killed his mother after a heated argument over his drinking habits, before taking his own life. The victims have been identified as Lakshmi Devi, 41, and her son Ramesh, 21, both from Vijayanagara district.

The incident occurred on Saturday night in their rented house in the Chandapura area. Police reported that Ramesh, who was reportedly intoxicated, had been in a quarrel with his mother, who had objected to his excessive drinking. In a fit of rage, Ramesh is believed to have strangled his mother to death before hanging himself.

The family had been living in Bengaluru, where Ramesh worked as a cleaner but was often irregular in his duties. His father, Manjanna, filed a complaint with the Jalahalli police, leading to the registration of the case. Police are now conducting further investigations into the matter.
