The BJP has questioned Rahul Gandhi’s stance on Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah after the latter was named in an FIR involving an alleged MUDA scam. Accused of corruption, Siddaramaiah denies wrongdoing and blames BJP for vendetta politics, while calls for his resignation grow from political opponents.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning whether he supports Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who has been named in an FIR related to an alleged scam involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The FIR accuses Siddaramaiah of illegally allotting 14 prime sites in Mysuru to his wife, sparking accusations of corruption.

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi described the case as a rare instance of a sitting chief minister being accused of corruption, claiming it exposes the “corrupt face of the Congress.” The BJP has been consistently targeting Siddaramaiah following the Lokayukta Police’s registration of the FIR on Friday, alleging misuse of authority and land allotment in the MUDA scam.

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, the BJP questioned his stance on Siddaramaiah’s alleged corrupt practices, suggesting a potential rift within the Congress leadership. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah has refused to resign, dismissing the allegations as “vendetta politics” by the BJP. He countered the accusations by raising issues related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including the Hindenburg report and ongoing violence in Manipur, questioning the BJP’s credibility on corruption matters.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi demanded Siddaramaiah’s immediate resignation, citing the High Court’s verdict that the chief minister cannot remain in power under such circumstances. Joshi accused Siddaramaiah of attempting to intimidate the governor and called for him to honor his past commitments to resign under similar allegations.

As political tensions escalate, the case has not only highlighted allegations of corruption within Karnataka’s administration but also intensified the ongoing political battle between the BJP and Congress, with both sides exchanging accusations of misconduct.
