Center Reshuffles Bureaucracy, Key Appointments Across Departments

In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Central Government has announced key appointments across various departments. This restructuring, just ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, includes appointments of Joint Secretaries and equivalent officers in crucial ministries like Health & Family Welfare, Department of Atomic Energy, Ministry of AYUSH, and more.
In
a notable bureaucratic overhaul, the Centre has made pivotal appointments
across different ministries and departments. These changes, preceding the
impending Lok
Sabha elections, involve the assignment of Joint Secretaries and comparable
officers to vital portfolios. Madhukar Kumar Bhagat and Meera Srivastava, both
from the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax cadre), have been designated as
Joint Secretaries in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, each
serving a tenure of five years, according to an order issued by the Personnel
Ministry.
Furthermore,
Anjali Sinha has assumed the role of Joint Secretary in the Department of
Atomic Energy, while Bhavna Saxena will serve as Joint Secretary in the
Ministry of AYUSH.
Binod
Kumar has been appointed as Secretary of the National Commission for Indian
System of Medicine (NCISM), under the Ministry of AYUSH, and Indra Mallo will hold
the position of Joint Secretary at the National Authority Chemical Weapons
Convention (NACWC), under the Cabinet Secretariat. Dhrubajyoti Sengupta has
been named Joint Secretary in the Department of Pension and Pensioners'
Welfare, and Yashashri Shukla will serve as Additional Secretary in the Central
Vigilance Commission (CVC).
Additionally, Kumar Sanjay Bariar has been appointed as an Additional Secretary in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Krishan Kumar, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL).

The
appointments also extend to ministries such as the Ministry of Cooperation, the
Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, and the Food Corporation
of India (FCI). Moreover, Shailendra Kumar, an Indian Civil Accounts Service
(ICAS) officer, will undertake the role of Joint Secretary in the Inquiry
Commission under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, while
Rajeev Kumar Tiwari will serve as Joint Secretary in the National Commission
for Scheduled Castes (NCSC).
Additionally,
Arvind Kumar, a Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officer, has been appointed
as Secretary of the National Commission for Allied & Healthcare Profession
(NCAHP) under the Department of Health & Family Welfare. CSS officers
Sreyasi Chaudhuri and Sumita Singh will assume positions as Financial Advisor
and Advisor, respectively, in the National Disaster Management Authority
(NDMA). Shreeshail Malge will be Joint Secretary in the Department of Skill
Development & Entrepreneurship, and Apparao Veerelli has been named CEO of
the Development & Welfare Board for Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic
Communities (DWBDNCs). Furthermore, Devendra Kumar Rai has been appointed as
Joint Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications. This extensive restructuring
aims to enhance administrative efficiency and effectiveness across various
sectors of governance.
