Amidst family tension, Chirag Paswan claims PM Modi's acknowledgment of his father's legacy, countering uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras' planned rally. The dispute escalated over Hajipur's Lok Sabha seat, indicating a rift within the former Lok Janshakti Party.

Former Lok Janshakti Party president Chirag Paswan has highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's purported acknowledgment of his late father's political legacy amidst a brewing feud within the family. Chirag's statement comes in response to his uncle and Union minister, Pashupati Kumar Paras, planning a rally in Hajipur, a significant Lok Sabha seat nurtured by their late leader Ram Vilas Paswan.

Chirag Paswan firmly expressed his stance on the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, asserting that seat distribution within the NDA is a collective decision. However, he emphasized PM Modi's alleged support for his claim to his father's legacy, considering the PM's influential position in the coalition.

Dismissing the significance of his uncle's rally, Chirag Paswan criticized Pashupati Kumar Paras for his historical lack of public engagement despite holding a ministerial position for years. He stressed his party's efforts on the ground in Bihar, highlighting instances where PM Modi seemingly favored his claim, notably during a recent rally in Telangana where the PM addressed the mistreatment of Chirag's father by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Chirag underscored the Centre's recognition of his association with his father's legacy, exemplified by being invited to receive the posthumously conferred Padma Bhushan award. Following the factional split of the Lok Janshakti Party after Ram Vilas Paswan's demise, with factions led by Chirag and Paras, the political landscape in Bihar has become increasingly complex within the NDA. The brewing conflict within the Paswan family could potentially impact the BJP's aspirations to secure a significant number of Lok Sabha seats in the forthcoming general elections in Bihar.
