Kozhnosys, a Pune based startup has developed a device called Canscan to detect breast cancer in women. Canscan would use exhaled breath to detect if cancer cells are active in the body or not at early stages.

The clinical trials are set to begin at Sahyadri Hospitals in Pune.

As per the data issued by National Center for Disease Informatics and Research, around one - third of the world's cervical and breast cancer cases come from India.

The device Canscan would be very cost effective and would play a pivotal role in early diagnosis of the disease. Also, this would reduce the risk of disease progression.
