Congress faced criticism from its INDIA bloc allies after losing the Haryana assembly elections to BJP. Accusations of arrogance and refusal to ally with smaller parties were highlighted as reasons for the loss. Regional leaders, including from Shiv Sena and TMC, emphasized the need for unity among opposition parties in future elections.
The Congress party faced backlash from its INDIA bloc allies following its loss in the Haryana assembly elections, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 48 of 90 seats, while Congress managed to win 37. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticized Congress for choosing to contest the elections without forming alliances with smaller parties. He suggested that collaboration with groups like the Samajwadi Party and AAP could have altered the outcome. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) also accused Congress of arrogance and entitlement, citing their refusal to cooperate with regional parties as a key factor in the defeat.
TMC MP Saket Gokhale highlighted that Congress’s dismissive attitude toward regional parties was a "recipe for disaster." He stated that arrogance and entitlement have been the downfall of Congress, adding that a similar attitude could lead to further electoral setbacks in future state elections.
