In a bid for damage control, Congress is navigating troubled waters as Mamata Banerjee asserts the Trinamool Congress's indispensable position within the I.N.D.I.A alliance. During a press conference in Assam, Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary, highlighted Mamata's significance, stating, "We cannot imagine the I.N.D.I.A alliance without Mamata ji."

Asserting their commitment to defeating the BJP, Banerjee slammed Congress for seat-sharing delays in West Bengal. Ramesh responded, emphasizing Mamata's importance as a leader in the I.N.D.I.A alliance.
