Mamata Banerjee's declaration of the Trinamool Congress going solo in Bengal for Lok Sabha polls deals a blow to the I.N.D.I.A alliance. Congress caught off guard, attempts damage control, emphasizing Mamata's crucial role. The rift intensifies over seat-sharing, raising uncertainties about the alliance's future strategy in West Bengal.

In a bid for damage control, Congress is navigating troubled waters as Mamata Banerjee asserts the Trinamool Congress's indispensable position within the I.N.D.I.A alliance. During a press conference in Assam, Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary, highlighted Mamata's significance, stating, "We cannot imagine the I.N.D.I.A alliance without Mamata ji."

Asserting their commitment to defeating the BJP, Banerjee slammed Congress for seat-sharing delays in West Bengal. Ramesh responded, emphasizing Mamata's importance as a leader in the I.N.D.I.A alliance. However, Mamata's subsequent announcement of the TMC going solo in Bengal marks a significant setback for the opposition bloc.

Dismissing media reports on seat-sharing talks, Mamata firmly declared no relation with Congress in Bengal. The offer of two seats to Congress triggered tension, leading Mamata to announce the break. As the I.N.D.I.A bloc faces a setback, Mamata asserted, "Let the Congress fight 300 seats on its own."

The tension escalates with Mamata's claims that Congress did not inform her about Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Nyay Yatra entering West Bengal. Expressing commitment to the opposition alliance at the national level, Mamata hinted at post-election strategy discussions within the I.N.D.I.A bloc.

This unexpected rift leaves Congress scrambling to realign its strategy, contemplating the impact of Mamata's solo move on the I.N.D.I.An alliance's dynamics in West Bengal. As the Bharat Nyay Yatra approaches, Mamata's decision casts a shadow on the once-united front against the BJP in the region.
