Sehore, Madhya Pradesh: A frantic rescue operation is currently underway in Mungaoli village of Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, as authorities strive to rescue a two-year-old girl who fell into a borewell while playing in a nearby field on Tuesday afternoon. The incident, which occurred around 2 pm, has prompted a multi-agency effort to save the child.

 

The girl, identified as Shristi Kushwaha, accidentally tumbled into the borewell in Mungavali village under the jurisdiction of Mandi police station. According to officials, she is currently trapped at a depth of approximately 25 to 30 feet. Recognizing the urgent need for action, the local administration swiftly responded to the incident and initiated the rescue operation.

Sehore Collector Ashish Tiwari provided an update on the ongoing efforts, stating, "We are continuously drilling the ground. We have to reach a depth of 30 feet. We will reach up to the level of the child within a few hours. After that horizontal drilling will be done by the NDRF team and the child will be rescued. We are supplying oxygen to the girl."

 

In collaboration with the police force, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the authorities are working tirelessly to ensure the safe retrieval of the trapped girl. Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Aman Mishra detailed the rescue operation, saying, "As soon as we received information about the matter, we reached the spot with the adequate police force, SDRF team, NDRF team, and started the rescue operation."

 

The rescue team has been diligently excavating the area, successfully digging 22 feet so far. The priority is to reach the girl's location, which is approximately 25 to 30 feet underground. Throughout the operation, oxygen is being continuously supplied to the girl, and her condition is reportedly stable.
