Sehore, Madhya Pradesh: A frantic rescue
operation is currently underway in Mungaoli village of Sehore district, Madhya
Pradesh, as authorities strive to rescue a two-year-old girl who fell into a
borewell while playing in a nearby field on Tuesday afternoon. The incident,
which occurred around 2 pm, has prompted a multi-agency effort to save the
child.
The girl, identified as Shristi Kushwaha,
accidentally tumbled into the borewell in Mungavali village under the
jurisdiction of Mandi police station. According to officials, she is currently
trapped at a depth of approximately 25 to 30 feet. Recognizing the urgent need
for action, the local administration swiftly responded to the incident and
initiated the rescue operation.
Sehore Collector Ashish Tiwari provided an
update on the ongoing efforts, stating, "We are continuously drilling the
ground. We have to reach a depth of 30 feet. We will reach up to the level of
the child within a few hours. After that horizontal drilling will be done by
the NDRF team and the child will be rescued. We are supplying oxygen to the
girl."
In collaboration with the police force, the
State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the National Disaster Response Force
(NDRF), the authorities are working tirelessly to ensure the safe retrieval of
the trapped girl. Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Aman Mishra detailed the
rescue operation, saying, "As soon as we received information about the
matter, we reached the spot with the adequate police force, SDRF team, NDRF
team, and started the rescue operation."
The rescue team has been diligently excavating
the area, successfully digging 22 feet so far. The priority is to reach the
girl's location, which is approximately 25 to 30 feet underground. Throughout
the operation, oxygen is being continuously supplied to the girl, and her
condition is reportedly stable.
The painstaking process involves careful
drilling to create a passage and ensure the child's safe retrieval. Once the
rescuers reach the depth where the girl is trapped, horizontal drilling will
commence, with the assistance of the NDRF team, to facilitate her rescue.
Local authorities and the rescue teams are
leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to expedite the operation and bring
Shristi Kushwaha back to safety. The incident has drawn attention to the need
for enhanced safety measures around borewells to prevent such accidents in the
future.
As the rescue operation unfolds, the community
remains on edge, praying for the safe and swift recovery of the young girl. The
collective hopes and efforts of the authorities and the public are focused on
reuniting Shristi with her family, while also emphasizing the importance of
vigilance and precautionary measures to prevent similar incidents in the
future.
