The Finance Minister also laid out an ambitious target of providing an additional 2 crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna - Gramin, supplementing the ongoing efforts to achieve the existing goal of 3 crore houses under the rural housing scheme. Sitharaman expressed confidence in nearing the 3 crore target soon, with the vision of constructing an additional 2 crore houses over the next five years.

A notable aspect of the Budget 2024 presentation was the adoption of a paperless format.
