Jagjit Singh Dallewal, a prominent figure in the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, found himself amidst controversy following his remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dallewal's statement, seen as critical of PM Modi's rising popularity post the Ram Temple inauguration, drew swift condemnation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In response to the uproar, Dallewal issued a clarification, emphasizing that his words were misconstrued. He stated that while he advocated for a movement against the government's policies, his intention wasn't to undermine the Prime Minister personally. Dallewal's clarification aimed to defuse tensions sparked by his earlier statement.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar weighed in on the matter, criticizing Dallewal's remarks and suggesting that such tactics would only bolster PM Modi's support base. Khattar questioned the effectiveness of large-scale protests, emphasizing the importance of maintaining law and order.

Amidst this political turmoil, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) announced a Bharat Bandh scheduled for February 16. Rakesh Tikait, the BKU's national spokesperson, highlighted various issues motivating the strike, including demands for MSP guarantees, addressing unemployment, and reforming pension schemes.

The call for a nationwide strike reflects the growing discontent among farmers and their allies. As tensions escalate, the focus shifts to how authorities and political leaders will address the grievances fueling this wave of protests.
