A New Jersey father is on trial for allegedly killing his 6-year-old son through extreme treadmill abuse in 2021, captured in disturbing gym surveillance footage that shows him violently forcing the boy to run despite repeated falls.
Creepy surveillance videos of the crime scene were introduced to the court as evidence of the California father accused of brutally killing his six-year-old boy in 2021. The video features 31-year-old Christopher Gregor pushing his son, Corey, onto a treadmill at a gym and setting the speed and incline up, repeatedly, until the boy can no longer hold on and he falls over and over again.
The prosecution alleges that Gregor brought Corey to the Atlantic Heights Clubhouse gymnasium on March 20, 2021, because he believed the kid was overweight. In the disturbing video, Gregor is observed lifting Corey onto the treadmill belt, harshly increasing the intensity, and even though the six-year-old is struggling to keep up, he falls off multiple times.
The footage that was released purportedly consisted of the constant pressure Gregor put on his son in order to lose weight. It was only days after the treadmill episode that Corey's mother, Bre Micciolo, informed the child protective authorities about his injuries. On 1st April, during a doctor's visit, Corey confessed he had been running on a treadmill all the time under his father's pressure since he was too fat.
Alas, the following day, Gregor had to take Rory to the hospital with serious symptoms such as staggering, slurred speech, and shortness of breath. Medical staff performed resuscitation until their patient, Corey, was no longer responsive. An autopsy, however, shows the boy died from blunt force trauma, with extensive bruising to his chest, abdomen, and internal organs like the heart and the liver.
Gregor is facing a long-term prison sentence if he is guilty of murder. This trial has been a very emotional one especially when Corey's mother Bre Micciolo broke down in tears when the gym surveillance record was shown.

Gregor was first arrested in the month of July 2021 on the charge of mistreatment of the child after the investigators saw the fitness center video in which he pushed Corey to the ground repeatedly during their runs. This is already the 6th month that he has been in jail, without bond, since he was charged with the murder of Corey back in March 2022.
