A big fire started on
Sunday in the centre of Tahliwal, Himachal Pradesh's market, following capsize of an oil tanker in the Una district.
The tragic event happened when a scooter rider was hit by a tanker and killed. Early accounts state that the fire rapidly extended across a huge area, severely damaging a great number of residences and commercial buildings as oil began to leak out.
The accident was most likely caused by the tanker losing control as it descended the hill. Witnesses and the injured shopkeeper both said that the tanker driver lost control of the vehicle while it was travelling downhill after an upward route. The fire was started by the tanker toppling over in the centre of the market due to its fast descent.

The flames in the truck were so strong that they could be seen from a distance, according to someone who was on the ground when it started. In addition, a motorbike that was parked in the market was completely destroyed by the fire.
The driver of the tanker managed to escape fatality by jumping out of the vehicle. Other locals helped him out by breaking the glass and pulling one of his assistants out of the truck during the early stages of the fire that broke out after the tanker overturned.
In addition to filing a case against the offending party, the police have started an investigation to determine what exactly went wrong.
