Andhra Pradesh High Court has granted former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu regular bail in a skill development case after an interim bail extension till November 28. This legal relief follows his arrest earlier this year on charges of misappropriating funds during his tenure.
The
Andhra Pradesh High Court has extended bail to Chandrababu Naidu, the former
Chief Minister, in a skill development case until November 28, following his
earlier arrest on September 9. Naidu's interim bail, granted earlier on health
grounds, has been extended as he awaits trial.
Initially granted a four-week interim bail for required cataract surgery, Naidu's bail extension comes with conditions. He must provide a bail bond of Rs. 1,00,000 with two sureties of the same amount to the Trial Court and disclose treatment details in a sealed cover upon surrendering to authorities.

The
court, acknowledging Naidu's health concerns, directed him to undergo necessary
medical procedures. Meanwhile, the FiberNet case, where Naidu is involved,
pertains to alleged irregularities in awarding work orders, causing substantial
losses to the state exchequer.
The
Andhra Pradesh Police, addressing the Supreme Court, assured not to arrest
Naidu in the FiberNet case until October 18 as his petition related to the
Skill Development Corporation scam is pending. The scam involves purported fund
misappropriation during Naidu's tenure as chief minister.
The
investigation alleges mismanagement and irregularities in the AP FiberNet
Project, leading to significant financial losses. Naidu's legal proceedings
continue amid these allegations tied to the Skill Development Corporation scam,
signaling a complex legal battle ahead.
