The US Company Harley Davidson has received pre-bookings for its new bike, the X440 in a magnitude much larger than what was expected from the Indian market. The brand looks ahead to much more flourishing business in the country now.

The launch of Harley Davidson’s X440 marks the resumption of the US brand’s bikes in India. This time, the premium company Harley Davidson has teamed up with Hero Motor Co. which is currently, the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world. This partnership has led to the prices of Harley Davidson bikes to be around 2 lakh 33,000 Indian rupees.

Jochen Zeitz, the CEO of Harley Davidson said, “We've been extremely pleased with the reception that the X440 has received since launch, with pre-orders exceeding initial expectations from launch.” Looking into further future prospects, he also said, “Now I look at India as a long-term opportunity ... it's a huge market overall.”

The news is particularly positive for Harley Davison as it had seen an 18% decline in its 2023 second quarter profits and the orders from India hev come as a life-saver.
