India and US Must Collaborate to Counter China: Congressman on PM Modi’s US Visit

US Congressman Shri Thanedar stressed the importance of India-US collaboration to counter China’s growing aggression. Speaking ahead of PM Modi’s visit for the Quad Summit, Thanedar highlighted the need for cooperation in defense, technology, and commerce, while the Indian diaspora prepares to celebrate PM Modi's arrival in New York.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in the US for a three-day visit, Congressman Shri Thanedar emphasized the need for India and the US to strengthen ties in order to counter China's growing aggression. Speaking ahead of the Quad Summit, Thanedar highlighted areas of cooperation such as technology, defense, and commerce, urging both nations to build a robust partnership. He stated that India's leadership under PM Modi is pivotal in balancing China’s economic and geopolitical influence.

The Quad summit, involving India, the US, Australia, and Japan, will focus on collaborative measures to counter China, a key agenda for the meeting. According to US officials, China’s aggressive policies and disregard for intellectual property, human rights, and worker rights will be addressed during discussions. Congressman Thanedar stressed that a strong India-US partnership could help counterbalance China's dominance.

Additionally, PM Modi will engage with the Indian diaspora, with over 24,000 Indian-Americans registered to attend an event in New York. His visit coincides with the buildup to the US presidential elections, further underscoring the political significance of the trip.
