India vs Zimbabwe 3rd T20I Highlights: Gill, Gaikwad Help India Secure 23 Run Win

India defeated Zimbabwe by 23 runs in the third T20I, taking a 2-1 lead in the series. Shubman Gill scored 66, while Washington Sundar took three wickets. Dion Myers top-scored for Zimbabwe with 65 not out.

It was a nail-biting game of cricket at the Harare Sports Ground and finally India emerged victorious by 23 runs in the third T20I and thus leading 2-1 in the 5 match series. While Zimbabwe batting at a target of 183 runs, they only able to make 159/6 in 20 overs.

India captain Shubman Gill who won the toss for his team and chose to bat first was really lucky. It was a good start for the Indian openers with Jaiswal scoring a good 36 off 27 balls and Gill an even better half century to his name 66 of 36 balls. New comer Ruturaj Gaikwad came in and gave a brisk knock of 49 off 28 balls, but failed to get his fifty by a single run. India were bowled out to a total of 182 for 4 when they completed their over.

For Zimbabwe, the shining star with the ball was Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza that got two wickets apiece. But they failed to stop the Indian batters from continuing their onslaught in the middle and scoring plenty of runs.

In reply Zimbabwe batsmen had a go in particular Dion Myers who made a good score of 65 no off 49 balls. Madande gave him good company with 37 off 26 balls. However, the rest of the Zimbabwean batting failed to make any substantial contributions and the team was bundled out at the score of 159/6.

The Indian all rounder Washington Sundar was particularly effective with the ball, taking three wickets at a crucial stage of the match, in addition to being awarded ‘Player of the Match’. Avesh Khan also bowled well to get two wickets while Khaleel Ahmed got a wicket in his quota of overs.

This win places India in a dominating position in the series which is currently tied at 2 – 2. The two remaining games are scheduled for the 13 and the 14th of July, it will be India’s chance to clinch series victory or Zimbabwe’s chance to get back on track.

India vs Zimbabwe 3rd T20I: So here are the few important points regarding the lecture:

- Shubman Gill achieved his maiden T20I fifty as a skipper and played a crease-stationary 66 off 36 balls.

- Ruturaj Gaikwad got out at 49 runs, he played a brilliant knock and comes not out in just 28 balls.

- Washington Sundar again came up with a fine all-round performance by taking three wickets which was crucial in containing Zimbabwe.

- Zimbabwe had some remarkable performances with the bat, primarily Dion Myers who remained not out on 65 off 49 balls.

Thus, the character of the series is set up quite interesting and cricket lovers can look forward to a packed schedule as both the teams are set to go all out in the remaining matches.
