New pictures of BTS member J-Hope in his military uniform have surfaced online, a week after he enlisted in the South Korean military. A fan shared the photos on Twitter, which included an image of J-Hope standing with his team while holding a gun.

Another photo showed J-Hope enjoying a meal with fellow soldiers, smiling brightly as he sat with them. A plate of various dishes was placed in front of him as he gave a thumbs-up to the camera.

A fan of J-Hope shared photos on Twitter of the rapper during his first course in combat skills and firearms training, where he learned how to handle a gun. The pictures were taken at Camp Shinkyo University and were reviewed by the commander of the 23rd-5th cafe. The fan expressed their pride in J-Hope, writing, "My #Hoseok, I'm so proud of you."

After the emergence of new pictures of J-Hope from the military camp, several members of the BTS ARMY took to Twitter to express their admiration for the rapper. One fan called him "sunshine" and wished him a good dinner, while another praised his "sweetest smile in this universe" and offered their support. Another Twitter user commented on J-Hope's good health, while someone else referred to him as their bias and expressed their pride in seeing him in a military uniform. These comments came after the first pictures of J-Hope from the military camp were shared on social media platforms last week.

BTS member J-Hope recently began his mandatory military service in South Korea, following in the footsteps of his fellow bandmate, Jin. Reports indicate that J-Hope is currently stationed at a boot camp in Wonju, which is located approximately 90 kilometers (55 miles) east of Seoul.

Before departing for the camp, J-Hope took to Weverse to share a heartfelt message with his fans. "I love you, Army. I'll see you again," he wrote, acknowledging the BTS fanbase and expressing his gratitude for their support. He also posted several photos of himself sporting a military buzz cut, signaling his official entry into the military.

J-Hope's enlistment in the military is part of a broader national policy in South Korea, which requires all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28 to complete approximately two years of military service. While his absence from BTS is sure to be felt by fans, the group has previously stated their commitment to continuing their music careers and maintaining a strong connection with their audience during the members' individual military stints.

In December of 2021, BTS member Jin made the decision to enter the South Korean army and fulfill his mandatory military service, marking the group's first member to do so. Jin had initially requested a deferral of his enlistment, but ultimately decided to follow through with his service.

Jin's enlistment sparked renewed discussion around the issue of military exemptions for prominent figures in the entertainment industry, with some arguing that BTS's global success and cultural impact merited special consideration. However, South Korea's government has maintained that mandatory military service is an important national duty for all citizens, regardless of their profession or status.

In October of 2020, BTS's management agency, BigHit Music, announced that all seven members of the group would fulfill their mandatory military service obligations. This means that the remaining five members - RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook - will also be required to enlist in the coming years.

The timing of the members' enlistments is still unclear, and will likely depend on a number of factors, including the group's upcoming music releases and tour schedules. However, BTS has expressed their commitment to continuing their music careers and staying connected with their fans throughout their military stints, indicating that the group will not disband during their absence. Despite the challenges posed by military service, BTS's global popularity and success have made them an important cultural ambassador for South Korea, highlighting the country's rich history and vibrant contemporary culture.
