External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s upcoming visit to Qatar will strengthen bilateral ties through meetings with Qatari leadership. The agenda includes trade, energy, and regional security. The visit also reflects diplomatic progress following the release of eight former Indian Navy personnel detained in Qatar last year.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will visit Qatar from December 30 to January 1 to strengthen bilateral ties and engage in high-level discussions with Qatari leadership. His meetings with Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani will focus on trade, security, energy, and cultural cooperation.
The visit highlights India’s commitment to deepening relations with Qatar, a key energy partner and home to over 830,000 Indians, the largest expatriate community in the country. Discussions will address regional stability and international issues, reinforcing India’s strategic engagement in West Asia.
This marks Jaishankar’s second visit since Qatar resolved the detainment of eight former Indian Navy personnel, underscoring diplomatic progress between the nations.
