In a rare post on X, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos vehemently denied accusations made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Musk had claimed that Bezos advised people to sell their Tesla and SpaceX stocks, citing that Donald Trump would certainly lose the election, a statement Musk suggested had negatively impacted the stock prices of his companies.
Bezos, in his first public post since November 6, 2024, categorically refuted Musk’s claims, stating, "Nope. 100% not true." Musk, in response, humorously conceded with a laughing face emoji, "Well, then, I stand corrected."
The controversy stems from Musk's post, in which he claimed that Bezos had warned people about Trump’s electoral loss, leading them to sell off stocks in Tesla and SpaceX, which subsequently saw a drop in value.
Musk, a prominent supporter of Trump during the 2020 election campaign, spent over $130 million on Trump's reelection efforts and has been seen at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort since the election. His comments linking Bezos to the stock dip were tied to the fear that Trump's loss could harm the companies Musk leads.
