Biden to Ban TikTok:-

The White House Foreign Affairs Committee agreed on Wednesday to grant President Joe Biden the authority to impose a ban on TikTok, a Chinese-owned video-sharing platform. This would be the most extensive U.S. restriction on a social media app, according to the sources. The majority of lawmakers approved the proposal by a vote of 24 to 16 to give the authorities the power to place restrictions on TikTok and other applications while taking security risks into account. It is essential that you take action because everybody who has TikTok installed on their smartphone has granted the Chinese Communist Party access to all of their personal data”, the Republican chair of the committee asserted. TikTok has been the subject of growing controversy in recent weeks due to the concerns that user data might get into the hands of the Chinese government and compromise security interests. The U.S. House committee gave the federal government 30 days to make sure TikTok was not installed on any equipment or systems used by the government. The bill gives Biden the power to forbid any transactions with TikTok, which may block anyone in the United States from accessing or downloading the video-sharing application on their phones. Additionally, the bill is unclear about how the ban would operate. The latest proposal still has a long way to go before it can become law. Before the bill can be sent to Biden, the entire House, and the Democratic-controlled U.S. Senate must approve it.
