The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, notorious for its high-profile threats and attacks, reportedly discussed targeting Aftab Poonawala, the accused in the Shraddha Walkar murder case. This revelation came to light during the Mumbai Police investigation into the gang’s activities.
Shivakumar Gautam, a key Bishnoi gang member and suspected shooter in the murder of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique, disclosed the plan. He stated that senior gang members, including Shubham Lonkar, deliberated on the idea but ultimately decided against it due to the high-security measures around Poonawala. The Mumbai Police has shared this intelligence with their counterparts in Delhi.
In May 2022, Aftab Poonawala allegedly killed Shraddha Walkar, his live-in partner, by strangling her. He then dismembered her body into 35 pieces, stored them in a refrigerator, and disposed of them over 18 days across various Delhi locations. The gruesome crime shocked the nation and led to heightened public and legal scrutiny.
Baba Siddique, an NCP politician known for his Bollywood connections, was shot dead in Mumbai on October 12 outside his son’s office. The incident is suspected to be linked to gang rivalries.
