A low-intensity explosion in Delhi's Prashant Vihar on Thursday caused panic as police confirmed it originated from a scooter parked near a sweet shop. The incident was reported at 11:48 a.m., prompting an immediate response from local police, bomb disposal teams, and the Delhi Fire Services.

Police sources revealed that a suspicious white powder was recovered from the blast site, raising concerns about the material involved. The area was promptly cordoned off, and nearby shops were asked to close as a precaution. A three-wheeler driver parked close to the site sustained minor injuries, but no other casualties were reported.

Four fire tenders were dispatched to the scene as part of the emergency response. Senior police officials, including Additional Commissioner Rajeev Ranjan, oversaw the investigation. The blast bore similarities to a previous explosion that occurred last month outside a CRPF school in the same area, though authorities have not yet confirmed a direct link.

The police are treating the incident seriously, with dog squads and forensic teams actively examining the site. Officials assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure public safety while investigations continue to identify the nature and source of the explosive material.
