Manchester City players and coach Pep Guardiola celebrate with the trophy after winning the UEFA Champions

Manchester City concluded their remarkable season by clinching their first UEFA Champions League title on Saturday night. They emerged victorious in the summit clash at the Ataturk Stadium, defeating three-time champions Inter Milan 1-0.

This triumph sealed City's historic treble for the season, making them the second English club to achieve this feat after Manchester United in 1999 when they won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

The win also solidified Manchester City's place as the fourth English club to capture the Champions League, following in the footsteps of Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea, making England the nation with the highest number of Champions League winners.

In a tense match dominated by City, Spanish midfielder Rodri's 68th-minute goal settled the score.

Despite City's dominance, the Italian side from Inter Milan proved to be formidable opponents, with substitute Romelu Lukaku coming close to equalising in the game's dying moments, only to be denied by an impressive save from Ederson.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, added another Champions League title to his name, making it three in total. His trophy count with City now stands at an impressive 12.

However, the victory came with challenges. City struggled to create opportunities without the injured Kevin de Bruyne and faced defensive uncertainties. Nevertheless, the ever-reliable Rodri delivered the decisive goal, capitalising on Bernardo Silva's cutback.

With the Champions League jinx broken, City shed any feelings of inferiority to European powerhouses such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool.

This victory was a redemption for Guardiola and his players, having stumbled in the 2019 Champions League final against Chelsea.

However, overcoming a tactically astute Inter Milan side was no easy task, adding to the significance of the achievement.
